![]() I've been enjoying Tents and Trees a lot! It's kind of like Picross but also its own thing with a distinct ruleset and different complexities. I normally don’t care about DLC but the first part is super good (and hard). You can start Forgotten Memories any time after purchasing it, though I would play at least a bit of the base game first. It’ll eventually deliver three additional rounds of puzzles one is available now. The base game came out in 2021, and a DLC pass dubbed Forgotten Memories dropped this year. You’ll need to balance crates on your head, make precise use of your rotations and plan up to - by my count - as high as seven steps ahead when building a Box Monstrosity. It’s hard to illustrate, but you will be amazed at what this game pulls. I dubbed a recurring theme I grew to both love and fear as the “One Less Problem” a puzzle in which you are one box away from achieving any obvious path to success. Often there aren’t that many pieces to shift around, or even much space to move. ![]() The puzzle solutions in this game are among the most clever and most devious I have ever experienced in a game. Doing that means paying close attention to how each element behaves alone and versus the others. You need to figure out how to get your stuff into a bonfire. In each of its 200+ puzzles, there is a wooden crate filled with your character’s possessions among other generic ones. It has no explicit story, but Bonfire Peaks is a game about moving on, so to speak. I’ve shilled for this game several times on this website, and frankly I’m not going to stop until I convince somebody to take a chance on it. OK, here goes! I’m going to start with just one recommendation: Bonfire Peaks When you recommend a fave, write a little bit about why it’s special to you! If you really want that S-rank, include a picture or GIF of it too. I have 100% confidence this thread will turn out to be an easy follow for puzzle freaks everywhere. And frankly, Famiboards members have good taste. A genre that’s often non-violent and focused on your internal knowledge of a game versus RPG-style upgrades, puzzle games have really been hitting all the right notes for me this year. I thought it’d be nice to have a thread specifically for a genre that sort of stands alone in video games. ![]() ![]() Do you love to puzzle? Friend, you’ve found your thread. ![]()
